Steve Hanvey is an award-winning executive and decorated veteran with more than 40 years of professional experience in aerospace, aviation, construction, M&A, startup development and growth, along with large government-run program management. As Chief Executive Officer of Alaka’i Technologies, Steve is responsible for all facets of the business, and his passion is fueled by a singular vision—to create a radically simple, safe and clean system of air mobility transportation for everyone.
Dr. Bruce J. Holmes
Dr. Bruce Holmes is a widely experienced leader in aeronautics technologies. He spent 33 years at NASA where he directed a variety of technology advancement programs in civil aviation and the Advanced General Aviation Transport Experiments (AGATE) Alliance. Holmes served the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during 2000 and 2001 in aviation and commercial space policy analysis. He continues to work in executive and leadership roles in aeronautical businesses which innovate at the leading edge of digitally connected aviation. He joined Alaka’i Technologies as a member of the Board of Directors in 2018 and Chief Technology Officer in 2019.
As Chief Financial Officer, John is responsible for Alaka’i’s overall financial management and health. John has a diverse background built from a combination of leadership, financial and management consulting roles. His experience spans more than 25 years and ten industries including aerospace companies Honeywell and Textron as well as other public companies such as Sanofi, Titleist, Thomson Reuters and The Financial Times. John is very active in the startup community as a speaker, serial advisor and mentor at many organizations including MassChallenge, MIT and Cornell University.
Bruce Gunter is Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Alaka’i and is focused on evolving the company’s customer acquisition, brand and competitive strategies. Bruce has over two decades experience in aviation related business, most notably championing early sales development at Cirrus Aircraft, earning title as VP of Sales. He is also an Airline Transport Pilot/FAA Flight Instructor with over 7,500 hours of flight time. His industry success, hands-on experience and passion for flight provide an excellent foundation to build and grow a certified aviation effort.
Akos Feher brings to Alaka’i more than two decades of operational leadership in automotive, aviation, consumer products and medical device industries. He has driven multiple start-ups and classic brands to successfully achieve aggressive growth. As Director and ultimately VP of Operations at Shelby American in Las Vegas, he designed, built and led the assembly plant and parts sales operations. As Alaka’i’s Chief Production Officer, Akos has the proven bandwidth to transition Skai from prototype to high-rate worldwide manufacturing.
Rich Corley is Alaka’i’s Chief Information Officer responsible for the IT infrastructure of the company as well as the design and implementation of the data strategies and systems used in Alaka’i’s products. Rich is a successful serial entrepreneur who has founded or been an early team member of six Boston area tech startups. His aviation bona fides include operating Skyline Flight, a FAA designated charter operation utilizing an eight-aircraft fleet throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Rich is active in the early stage business community and is a member of Northeastern University’s IDEA Board of Directors.
